OBS Browser Source TRANSPARENT

  1. Copy your link. In OBS, add a Browser source and paste it into URL.
  2. Suggested starting settings: width 800, height 600, and frame rate 60 FPS. Adjust the dimensions and frame rate to suit your stream.
  3. Right-click the source → Interact. Click the controller, then press a button on your DualSense to activate input.

Check that the buttons still respond after switching to your game. For gyro movement, touchpad finger tracking, or if input stops when switching apps, use the capture-window method.

Browser window capture DIRECT CONNECTION

  1. Choose Green or Blue, then open the capture page in its own desktop Chrome or Edge window.
  2. Click Connect DualSense and select your controller. Hide the setup panel once live input works.
  3. In OBS, add Window Capture. On macOS, add macOS Screen Capture and set Method to Window Capture. Select OBS Stream Capture — DualSense Studio under Chrome or Edge, then add a Chroma Key filter matching your background.
  4. Unlock the source if needed. Right-click it → Transform → Edit Transform, then increase Crop Top until the tabs and address bar disappear. Keep the controller and L2/R2 meters visible, position the source, then lock it.

Keep the capture tab selected and its window open and unminimized. Switching tabs in that window changes what OBS shows; use a different window for other browsing. Direct input continues when your game has focus.

Is the DualSense OBS overlay free?

Yes. Streamer mode is free to use, with no account or membership required. Tips through Buy Me a Coffee are optional.

How do I add the controller overlay to OBS?

Choose your look, select Copy OBS link, and paste it into an OBS Browser source. Suggested starting settings are 800 × 600 at 60 FPS. Adjust the dimensions and frame rate to suit your stream. Open Interact and press a controller button to activate input. The setup guide above also explains browser window capture.

Can I use a transparent background?

Choose Clear and use an OBS Browser source for a transparent overlay. For browser window capture, choose Green or Blue, then add a matching Chroma Key filter in OBS.

What can I customize?

Set the camera angle and controller size, shell and light colors, button highlight color and opacity, and background. Show or hide stick arrows and L2/R2 trigger meters, then copy the OBS link to keep your settings.

Can I preview the overlay without a controller?

Yes. Select Try demo above the preview to see simulated button presses, stick movements, and trigger pressure. A connected controller is needed to show your own live inputs.

Which controller and browser should I use?

This overlay is designed for a PS5 DualSense connected over USB or Bluetooth. For gyro movement, touchpad finger tracking, or if OBS Browser source input stops when your game has focus, open the capture page in desktop Chrome or Edge and select Connect DualSense. Keep that window open and unminimized. You can also test your controller’s inputs in the studio.

Choose how you’ll capture the controller.

Gyro movement requires a connected Chrome or Edge window. OBS Browser Source cannot receive that motion with the current setup. Use Browser window capture, or turn controller motion Off to enable this option.

Your OBS link uses a transparent background. Your look stays the same.
